WARNING: Fourth Wall Breaking
Okay, you asked for it. Here is the pure unvarnished truth. The person behind all of this is me. I'm a retired 57 year old former Chicago Public School teacher. I taught for 25 years and decided to give myself a second act in life by retiring while I was still relatively young.
In the early 1990s, I was part of the Chicago Improv scene. I went through the Players Workshop and the Second City Training Center. I was in the exact same cohort as Tina Fey and I had Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell as instructors. I also had improv legends like Norm Holly, Mick Napier, Anne Libera, and Martin De Maat as instructors and directors. Wow, I got so much from Marty.

Partly inspired by my experiences as Jack Kimble and having some of my all-time favorite comics as followers, I tried my hand at standup in March of 2025. I took inspiration from Malcolm Jamal Warner picking up the bass because he was looking for an artistic outlet he wouldn't try to turn into a career and I got into standup. I'm taking it as far as I can and I'm enjoying the journey, but I have no aspirations of a Netflix special or headlining the Comedy Cellar. What I am looking for is as many opportunities for fun, making my political point, and just enjoying myself. Why does this bio feel so much like I'm writing a profile for a dating app.

I have done some pretty big live interviews and loved them. My improv training kicks in, and I can have a wonderful conversation as everybody's favorite 54th District Congressman. I can perform standup as myself or as Jack Kimble. If you have a project or event that you'd be interested in having me at, let me know. I have been making Jack look more and more like myself so it's not as big a shock when I show up.
